Happy camper

Ik zit op kamp. Bootcamp. Ik zet me weerom schrap voor een resem opdrachten van Lilla Rogers.

Voor de eerste opdracht nam ik, op aangeven van Lilla, een duik in de wondere wereld van de koekoeksklok. Een ware icoontjes-hemel zo bleek. Eindpunt van de opdracht was een ontwerp voor een telefoonhoes, geïnspireerd op de beeldtaal van die klokken.

Hierboven mijn resultaat...

Elke maand worden alle resultaten de wereld ingegooid. Een online galerij toont ze zij aan zij. Je kan hier een kijkje gaan nemen, maar wees gewaarschuwd: je wordt misschien wat 'koekeloerezot'!

Mijn inspiratie kwam deels van op zolder. Daar bewaar ik de - kapotte :-( - koekoeksklok van mijn grootvader en een immense voorraad oud behangpapier. Mijn grootvader 'Richard' was schilder en behanger. Ik bewaar wat van zijn 'overschotjes' als souvenir. 't Blijken ook geweldige inspiratiebronnen vol iconen en kleurenpaletten.

I entered Lilla & Beth's Bootcamp. I'm bracing myself for yet another series of assignments from Lilla Rogers.

For the first assignment Lilla made me and my co-campers plunge in to the world of cuckoo clocks. Heaven if you are looking for fun little icons. We had to make a cell phone cover inspired on that cuckoo world.

Every month there will be a gallery to showcase all the designs made by the bootcamp participants. The first gallery went online yesterday. You can go and have a look over here. But be warned: you can go cuckoo at the sight of all those cuckoo designs!

Some of my inspiration came from the attic. That is where I keep my grandfathers - broken :-( - cuckoo clock and an immense stock of old wallpaper. My grandfather 'Richard' was a painter and paperhanger. I kept some of his wallpaper 'leftovers' as a souvenir. They are a cool resource for icons and palettes as well.
